A Vapor demon (only spirit, with no corporeal form), Oblis was a servant to the Demon Lord Balberith. During the first adventure of Tamara and William Swift as Protectors, Oblis possessed their father, Henry Swift. Though Balberith was defeated, the Protectors have yet to find a way to exorcise Oblis from their father. His hold is tenacious.
Oblis also has a history with Queen Bodicea. In another possessed form - that of a Roman general - it was Oblis who raped and murdered Bodicea's daughters before Bodicea herself was killed. It is all that the spectral queen can do not to kill Henry, just to get to the demon inside.
Henry/Oblis is kept in a room at the top of the house, bound by chains and magic.
